About Us

Colin Benesch is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He has been working in the funeral services industry since 2016 at Earth’s Option Cremation and Burial Services - successfully completing his apprenticeship in June 2018.

Being a Funeral Director is in his blood! Colin is the 3rd generation of Beneschs to work in the funeral services industry. He is the son of Chris and Susan Benesch (founders of Earth’s Option).

Make no mistake though, Colin chose this area of work for himself. After exploring many other careers, from construction to banking, he found meaning in the family business. He sincerely finds it fulfilling to assist families through the bereavement process. Losing a loved one is never easy and Colin encourages you to memorialize those lost.

His beliefs are evident in the care and respect he puts into embalming. As well, Colin is constantly learning new and inventive options for families to remember their loved ones through things like Green Burial, Aquamation, and Living Reef Memorials.

This makes Colin uniquely capable of providing families with the funeral you want; to honour your traditions and wishes. Whether it is an elaborate burial, a basic cremation, or you don’t quite know what you want, Colin will know how to best preserve your memories.

While not working, you will probably find Colin enjoying nature. He likes to forage for mushrooms, go fishing, and hike with his girlfriend. One of his greatest accomplishments to date is buying his own house - which really is a big accomplishment here in Victoria. Colin is also a pretty decent cook!
